Why buyers choose LMS Advisor for WordPress LMS work
Ten plugins, one team
We work across the major WordPress LMS plugins, so our advice on which one to use is not tied to the only one we know.
We built our own LMS
After years of building, fixing and migrating LMS platforms for clients, we built our own. That shows in how we think about data, reporting and upgrades.
No freelancers
Every developer is our own staff, managed by a dedicated project manager who owns your timeline.
Your code, your data
Full source code ownership and 100% confidentiality under NDA on every project.
Guarantees that carry risk for us
Satisfaction guarantee, on-time delivery guarantee, and a zero billing guarantee if the work does not meet expectations.
Clear communication
Email, Slack or a project dashboard, with milestone reports and direct access to the people doing the work.
From first call to launch
Free consultation
We learn about your learners, courses, revenue model and current site, and answer the which-plugin question if it is still open.
Scope and quote
A written scope with milestones and a fixed quote, or an engagement model if you want a dedicated developer.
Build on staging
Development and testing on a staging copy, with a demo at each milestone.
Launch
Go-live, data migration where needed, and a checklist run through enrollment, quizzes, certificates and payments.
Ongoing care
Optional monthly maintenance, or a part-time developer for continuing improvements.
Work we are asked to do
Course business starting out
A consultant wants to sell three self-paced courses with coupons and a bundle. We recommend a plugin, build the site and connect Stripe and Mailchimp.
Corporate training on WordPress
An HR team needs departments, managers who see their team's progress and certificates that expire yearly, built on a plugin with group reporting.
Leaving a hosted course platform
A creator moves from Teachable or Thinkific to WordPress to own the site and customize checkout, bringing courses and students across.
Site that has become fragile
Years of add-ons and quick fixes mean every update breaks something. We audit, simplify the plugin stack and put the site on a care plan.
Tools and integrations
How to choose a WordPress LMS plugin
There is no single best WordPress LMS. Each plugin makes different assumptions about who creates courses, how they are sold and what reporting matters. We work on all of the plugins below, so here is how we match them to buyers.
Structured training and certification
LearnDash is the default choice for structured courses with drip content, prerequisites, quizzes and certificates, and its Groups feature gives managers a view of their team's progress. It also has a large ecosystem of third-party add-ons. WP Courseware takes a simpler approach with a drag-and-drop course builder and dependable drip scheduling, which suits training teams who want fewer moving parts.
Memberships and course businesses
LifterLMS builds memberships and access plans into the core plugin, which makes it a strong fit for creators selling subscriptions, coaching and courses together. Tutor LMS has a front-end course builder that instructors can use without touching wp-admin, so it works well for multi-instructor sites and course marketplaces.
Budget-conscious and lightweight setups
LearnPress offers a free core with paid add-ons and a large choice of education themes. Namaste! LMS is lean and flexible, and pairs with Watu PRO when you need more advanced exams. Sensei LMS, from Automattic (the company behind WooCommerce), is built around the block editor and suits sites that already live in the Automattic ecosystem.
Theme-led and community platforms
MasterStudy and WPLMS combine a theme and LMS features in one package. That is quick to launch, but the design and the course data are tied together, so plan for that before you customize heavily. BuddyBoss is not an LMS on its own. It adds profiles, groups, feeds, messaging and a native app on top of LearnDash, LifterLMS or Tutor LMS for programs where community matters as much as content.
Questions to answer before you pick
- Will you sell single courses, bundles, memberships or seats to companies?
- Do managers need to see their team's progress, or only your admins?
- Will several instructors publish courses, or just your own team?
- Do learners need a community, a mobile app, or neither?
- Which payment, CRM and email tools must connect on day one?
When no plugin fits
Sometimes your rules (credit tracking, company seat purchases, approval workflows) do not match any plugin. Our custom WordPress LMS development service covers extensions and full custom builds, and we will tell you which one your requirements actually need. Once a site is live, our WordPress LMS maintenance plans keep updates, backups and security in hand.
If WordPress itself is the limit, we also build outside it. Our LMS development services cover custom platforms on our own LMS and builds from scratch, and the custom LMS development guide explains how to choose between them.
When our own LMS is the better fit
WordPress is an excellent base for most course businesses, but it has limits. If you need proctored exams with webcam and browser monitoring, SAML SSO with SCIM user provisioning, compliance evidence for audits or a separate exam portal for candidates, a dedicated platform is often simpler than stacking plugins. That is why we built LMS Advisor, which imports LearnDash, LifterLMS and Tutor LMS courses as well as Moodle backups. We only recommend it when it truly fits better, and our WordPress services stand on their own either way.
