Partner certification you can check partner by partner
Each reseller gets its own organization and training lead. Certification exams open only to people who finished the groundwork, and you can see which partners are ready to sell.
At a glance
- An organization per partner
- Partner-side training leads
- Exams behind access rules
- Proctoring where it counts
- Certificates anyone can check
A channel manager’s version of training looks different from HR’s. Your learners work for other companies, sign in with their own email addresses, and change jobs more often than you would like. Your partner agreement says a Gold reseller needs two certified technical staff. What you actually have is the partner’s word for it.
LMS Advisor handles this with organizations. Each partner gets its own space with a seat limit, its logo on its learners’ screens, and a training lead who manages their own people. Certification exams sit behind access rules, so nobody sits the technical exam before passing the foundation course. If you charge partners for training, that goes through WooCommerce. One honest note: this is a training platform, not a PRM. Deal registration and partner marketing funds stay in the tools you already use.
Where channel enablement breaks down
Tier requirements nobody verifies
The agreement asks for certified staff at each tier, but checking it means emailing every partner and trusting the spreadsheet they send back.
Turnover on the partner side
The certified engineer leaves, the replacement never takes the course, and your customer finds out during the implementation.
Launches that never reach the field
A new release or pricing model ships, and reseller sales reps keep pitching last year’s version for months.
Partners are not employees
They sit outside your identity provider, should never see internal courses, and each partner wants to manage its own people without calling you.
One academy, a separate space for each partner
Create an organization for each partner, give their training lead a manager view, and build role-based tracks that end in gated, optionally proctored exams. Certification status is visible per partner and can be pushed to your CRM through webhooks.
An organization per partner
Each partner has its own members, assigned courses and seat limit, and its logo appears in the navigation for its learners.
Partner-side training leads
The partner’s own manager adds or imports staff, assigns courses and downloads reports, within the permissions you grant.
Exams behind access rules
Open an exam only to people who passed a course, scored a minimum in another exam, belong to a group, or fall inside a date window.
Proctoring where it counts
Turn on webcam snapshots, AI face monitoring and fullscreen lockdown for the exams that decide a partner’s tier.
Certificates anyone can check
Every certificate has a public verification page, so your sales team or an end customer can confirm a partner engineer’s status.
Status sent to your CRM
Webhooks and the REST API pass completion and certificate events to the systems where your channel team tracks partners.
Designing a partner certification track
Tracks by partner role
Resellers rarely need one curriculum. A typical setup has three learning paths: sales (positioning, pricing, competitive questions), presales or technical (architecture, setup, troubleshooting) and support. Each path ends in its own exam. Keep a short foundation course that every partner employee takes first, since that is where you check the basics before anyone represents your product.
Access rules instead of manual approvals
An exam can be open to anyone with the link, or conditional. Conditional exams check rules such as “completed the technical foundation course”, “scored at least 80% in the sales exam”, “belongs to the Gold partners group” or “today is inside the certification window”, combined with all or any. Before you send invitations, the audience preview shows exactly who qualifies right now. Anyone who does not qualify sees a message explaining why the exam is still locked.
Keeping answer keys private
Partners talk to each other. Draw each attempt from a larger question pool, shuffle the questions and options, set a time limit and cap the number of attempts. Set result visibility to pass or fail only, so candidates do not leave with a list of correct answers to share.
Keeping certification current
Put the annual “what changed this year” material in a course with a certificate validity period of twelve months. When the certificate nears expiry, an automation rule emails the partner employee with a link back to the course. Your partner reports then show who is current today, rather than who passed once three years ago.
Letting partners manage their own people
Each partner’s training lead gets a manager view scoped to their organization. You decide whether they can add members, create accounts, assign or remove courses. When the partner reaches its seat limit, the lead sees a message to contact you instead of silently adding more people. Reports download as CSV, Excel or PDF.
Charging partners for training
Some vendors charge for technical certification. Sell those courses and exams through your WooCommerce store, and mark an exam as requiring purchase so only buyers can sit it. LMS Advisor does not process payments itself, and we do not offer separate white-labeled sites per partner.
From signed partner to certified team
Create the partner organization
Add the partner with its logo and seat limit, then invite its training lead as organization manager.
Load their people
The training lead adds staff one by one or imports a list, with no ticket to your team.
Assign role tracks
Assign the sales, technical and support paths that match the partner’s tier and the products they sell.
Certify behind rules
Exams open once the required courses are complete, with proctoring on the exams that decide tier status.
Report and renew
Review certification by partner, push status to your CRM and let expiry reminders handle recertification.
Channel programs that fit
Reseller sales certification
Every reseller rep completes positioning and pricing training and passes a short exam before being listed as authorized to sell.
Implementation partner accreditation
Technical staff at integrators pass a proctored exam, sometimes with coding questions, before they can lead a customer deployment.
Launch readiness across the channel
A release course is assigned to every partner organization with a due date, and the channel team checks which partners have not started.
Managed service providers
Support staff at MSPs follow a troubleshooting path, and the partner lead keeps new hires enrolled as their team changes.
What the channel manager can finally see
- Tier requirements checked against real certificates
- Partner leads manage their own staff without calling you
- Certification exams only reach people who did the groundwork
- Recertification runs on expiry dates, not goodwill
- Partner learners never mix with your internal courses
