An enterprise LMS that gets through security review
SAML SSO and SCIM for IT, scoped administration for each business unit, and authoring and analytics that let L&D ship programs without a ticket queue. Cloud or self-hosted.
At a glance
- SAML 2.0 SSO and SCIM 2.0
- Branches with scoped admins
- Assigned training with due dates
- Authoring with an AI assistant
- Reports and an AI admin agent
Enterprise LMS projects tend to stall in two places. First comes the security questionnaire: SSO, provisioning, data location, audit trails, and what the AI features send where. Then comes the org chart, because sales enablement, the plant network, finance compliance and the new-manager program all want their own courses, admins and reports without seeing each other’s.
We designed LMS Advisor around those two conversations. IT gets SAML 2.0, SCIM 2.0, passkeys, two-factor authentication and a self-hosted option. Business units become branches with their own managers. L&D gets authoring tools, AI drafting that never publishes by itself, and reports that answer the questions executives ask at quarterly reviews.
Why enterprise LMS rollouts stall
The security questionnaire comes first
Before anyone sees a course, IT wants SSO, provisioning, an audit trail and a straight answer on where data lives and which AI provider sees it.
Every business unit wants an admin
A single central team becomes a bottleneck, but handing out full admin rights means the regional sales team can edit the global harassment prevention course.
Legacy content in five formats
Vendor SCORM, recorded webinars, slide decks and an old Moodle site someone set up years ago. Nobody wants to rebuild all of it.
Leaders ask what training changed
Completion rates are easy. Showing which regions are behind on required training, or which new hires may not finish onboarding, takes more than a CSV dump.
One platform, many owners
Identity and provisioning belong to IT, structure and permissions to HR and each business unit, and content and reporting to L&D. LMS Advisor keeps those lanes separate on one install.
SAML 2.0 SSO and SCIM 2.0
Connect Entra ID, Okta or another SAML identity provider. SCIM creates, updates and deactivates accounts as people join, move or leave.
Branches with scoped admins
Each business unit or country gets a branch. Branch managers see and manage only their own people and courses, while central admins see everything.
Assigned training with due dates
Push required courses to groups or organizations with due dates, and let automation remind people who have not started, have stalled or are nearly due.
Authoring with an AI assistant
Draft courses, sections, lessons and quizzes from a topic and outline, then rewrite, simplify or expand. AI output always waits for a person to publish it.
Reports and an AI admin agent
Configurable reports and exports, plus an admin agent that answers plain-language questions about completions, progress and enrollments.
API, webhooks and chat alerts
REST API v1 and webhooks feed your HRIS or data warehouse, and Slack and Microsoft Teams notifications reach the channels people actually read.
What your security and HRIS teams will want to know
Identity and access
SSO runs over SAML 2.0, and you can import your identity provider’s metadata instead of copying fields by hand. SCIM 2.0 keeps accounts in step with your directory, including deactivation on the day someone leaves. People outside SSO, such as contractors, can be required to use two-factor authentication or passkeys. Roles and permissions decide who can author, who can grade and who can see reports, and branch scoping limits every role below admin to its own branch’s data.
Where the data lives
Run LMS Advisor in our cloud or on your own servers. Self-hosting is plain PHP and MySQL, so it fits infrastructure your team already manages, with in-app migrations, backups and a system health page. Retention settings control how long audit logs, session history, analytics events, AI tutor conversations and proctoring images are kept before they are purged. The audit log records sensitive admin actions such as role changes, SSO configuration and manually completed courses, and it can be exported.
AI with the switches reviewers want
You choose Anthropic or OpenAI as the provider, or turn AI off. Beyond the platform-wide switch there are separate switches for features like assignment grading, recommendations and the admin agent. Every AI call is recorded in the AI Usage log with what it did, who triggered it and what it cost, Drafts generated by AI are never published automatically.
Connecting to the rest of your stack
REST API v1 covers courses, enrollments, learning paths, exams and certificates, and webhooks push events such as completions to your HRIS or warehouse. There is no packaged connector for particular HR suites, so user data usually arrives through SCIM and results go back over the API. Live sessions run through Zoom or Google Meet. Existing SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI and cmi5 content uploads as lessons, with xAPI statements stored in the built-in LRS or forwarded to yours.
Sizing
We size deployments with you rather than quote a user ceiling. Tell us headcount, peak usage (the week before a compliance deadline is usually the busiest) and your preference for cloud or self-hosted, and we will recommend a setup.
A rollout plan for a large organization
Security and identity review
IT connects SAML SSO and SCIM, reviews retention and AI settings, and chooses cloud or self-hosted.
Map the organization
Business units become branches, teams become groups, and branch managers get scoped admin roles.
Move existing content
Upload SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 packages, import Moodle or LearnDash courses, and load video into the Media Library.
Launch required programs
Assign onboarding and compliance courses with due dates, then switch on reminder rules and Teams or Slack alerts.
Report to the business
Report by branch and program, export for leadership, and follow up early with at-risk learners.
Programs enterprise teams run on it
Global compliance cycles
Code of conduct, security awareness, anti-bribery and data protection training assigned by region, with expiring certificates and due-date reminders.
New hire onboarding
A learning path that starts on day one, mixes company-wide content with role tracks, and shows the hiring manager where each new starter stands.
Manager and leadership programs
Cohorts mixing self-paced modules, live Zoom sessions with attendance, forum discussion and a capstone assignment.
Hiring assessments
Skills tests for external candidates through the Test Center, including coding questions, with AI resume screening available for high-volume roles.
What changes for L&D, IT and HR
- IT approves one platform instead of a new tool for every department
- Business units run their own programs without waiting on a central team
- Leavers lose access when the directory says so
- L&D can draft and publish a course without an outside agency
- Leadership gets reports by region and program without a manual rollup
Enterprise features worth a closer look
Questions from procurement, IT and L&D
How many employees can LMS Advisor handle?
Which identity providers do you support?
Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?
Can each department have its own administrators?
What does the AI send to Anthropic or OpenAI?
Can we bring existing vendor courses?
Is there a native mobile app?
Send us your security questionnaire early
Share your identity provider, rough headcount, number of business units and any self-hosting requirement. We will answer the IT questions first, then show L&D the authoring and reporting side.
