LearnPress work we build and fix
LearnPress is a modular plugin: the core handles courses, lessons and quizzes, and nearly everything else arrives as a ThimPress add-on. Most of our work is choosing the right pieces, wiring them together and writing the custom code the add-ons do not cover.
Setup on Eduma or EduPress
We install LearnPress, import the Eduma demo closest to your business (or start lean on the free EduPress theme), then configure courses, quizzes, certificates, hosting and the database so the course archive stays quick.
Update-safe theme changes
Design changes live in a child theme and in LearnPress's own override folder (your-theme/learnpress/), never inside Eduma or the plugin, so a theme update does not erase months of work.
Add-on selection and setup
Content Drip, Prerequisites Courses, Gradebook, Assignments, Certificate, Collections and Random Quiz each solve one problem. We install only the ones you need and test how they behave together.
Payments and memberships
LearnPress checkout with the Stripe, Razorpay, Authorize.Net, PayU or Paystack add-ons, or the WooCommerce add-on when you want coupons and bundles. Recurring access runs on Memberships & Subscriptions or Paid Memberships Pro.
Instructor marketplaces
Frontend Editor so instructors build courses without wp-admin, Co-Instructors for shared courses, and the Commission add-on for payout percentages, plus the approval rules your marketplace needs.
Custom features and integrations
Custom question types, reporting built on Gradebook data, CRM sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign, and Zapier automations, all written against LearnPress hooks rather than core edits.
Migration into LearnPress
We move courses, lessons, quizzes and student accounts from Moodle, Teachable, Thinkific or another WordPress plugin, and use the Export Import add-on when you are consolidating two LearnPress sites.
Speed, security and rescue
Slow Elementor course pages, add-on conflicts after a LearnPress 4 release, caching rules that serve stale quiz pages to logged-in students, and hacked or abandoned installs.

Why course businesses hand LearnPress to us
In-house developers
Everyone who works on your LearnPress site is on our payroll. Nobody subcontracts your admin password to a stranger.
Builds that accept updates
ThimPress ships LearnPress and Eduma updates often. We structure custom work so you can install them on staging, test and move on.
Code you own
Custom plugins, child themes and scripts are yours at handover, in a repository you control.
Confidential by default
Student records, revenue data and course content stay covered by an NDA from the first call onward.
One project manager
A dedicated PM owns your timeline and answers you directly, so you are never chasing a developer for status.
Guarantees in writing
Satisfaction and on-time delivery are guaranteed, and under our zero billing guarantee you do not pay for work that misses the agreed brief.
From first call to launch
Free consultation
Show us the site or the idea. We look at your theme, active add-ons and hosting, then tell you plainly what we would change.
Scope and quote
You get a written scope listing features, add-ons, milestones and a fixed quote before any money moves.
Build on staging
Work happens on a staging copy with your real courses, so nothing half-finished reaches paying students.
Test the student path
We buy a course with a test card, finish lessons, pass and fail quizzes and download a certificate, on desktop and phone.
Launch and handover
We deploy, watch orders and enrollments through launch week, then hand over code, credentials and notes.
Work we are asked to do
Eduma site that outgrew its demo
A coaching academy launched on an imported Eduma demo and edited the parent theme directly. We moved every change into a child theme and template overrides so updates became routine again.
Multi-instructor marketplace
A skills platform needed instructors to publish from the front end and get paid a share of each sale. We combined Frontend Editor, Co-Instructors and Commission with a custom review queue.
Multilingual language school
A school teaching in three languages needed translated courses and weekly lesson release. We set up the WPML add-on with Content Drip and matched translated quizzes to the right cohorts.
Leaving a hosted course platform
A training company on Thinkific wanted its own WordPress site and payment gateway. We rebuilt the catalog in LearnPress, imported student accounts and set up Stripe checkout.
Tools and integrations
What a well-built LearnPress site looks like
LearnPress gives you a free core and a long shelf of add-ons. That flexibility is the reason people pick it, and it is also where most projects go sideways. A site we would call healthy has a short, deliberate add-on list, custom design in a child theme, payments on one clear path, and a staging copy where updates are tested before students see them.
We see the opposite often enough to recognize it quickly: every add-on from the Eduma bundle switched on, template edits made inside the parent theme, two checkout flows competing, and nobody sure which plugin broke the quiz page last Tuesday. None of that is LearnPress's fault. It is what happens when a site grows without a plan.
Where we usually start
Theme and templates
Many LearnPress sites run on Eduma, the ThimPress education theme, built with Elementor through Thim Elementor Kit or with WPBakery. Others start on EduPress, the free starter theme, or on a theme of their own. LearnPress looks for template overrides in a learnpress folder inside your theme, and checks the child theme before the parent. We use that system for every layout change to course, lesson and profile pages, so your customizations stay put when ThimPress ships an update.
Add-ons that earn their place
Each add-on solves one job. A few we configure often:
- Content Drip and Prerequisites Courses for release schedules and course order
- Assignments and Gradebook for instructor-graded work with CSV export
- Certificate for completion certificates built in its drag-and-drop editor
- Live Course for Zoom or Google Meet sessions inside a course
- H5P and Interactive Blocks for flashcards and interactive questions
- BuddyPress, bbPress and myCRED for community, forums and points
When an add-on almost fits, we extend it through hooks and filters instead of editing its files. When nothing fits, we write a small custom plugin you own.
Selling courses without a fragile checkout
LearnPress can take payment directly through gateway add-ons for Stripe, Razorpay, Authorize.Net, 2Checkout, PayU, Paystack, Instamojo and Klarna. Many businesses are better served by the WooCommerce add-on, which brings coupons, tax rules and bundles. Recurring revenue usually runs through Memberships & Subscriptions or Paid Memberships Pro. We pick one route, set it up end to end, and test real purchases through to enrollment and receipt emails.
Moving to LearnPress, or fixing one that struggles
For migrations we write import scripts that map your old course structure into LearnPress sections, lessons and quizzes, bring student accounts across, and redirect old URLs so search rankings survive. For struggling sites we start with an audit: which add-ons are active, what loads on a course page, how big the order and user tables have grown, and whether caching treats logged-in students correctly.
ThimPress also offers LearnPress and Eduma mobile apps that read course data through the LearnPress REST API. If you plan to use one, we make sure your custom fields and course structure come through the API the way the app expects.
Honest scoping
LearnPress handles course sales, coaching programs and school catalogs well. If your requirements drift toward proctored exams, SCIM user provisioning or compliance evidence for auditors, we will say so in the consultation. We build our own LMS for exactly those cases, and we would rather point you to the right tool than stretch a plugin past its design.
