LearnDash work we build and fix
Each item is scoped and quoted on its own, so you can start with whatever is causing the most pain today.
Course builds and restructuring
We set up courses, lessons, topics and quizzes in the Course Builder, with prerequisites, drip schedules and Shared Course Steps where content repeats across courses. We also untangle messy course trees and bring in content moved from Moodle, Teachable or Thinkific.
Quizzes, grading and certificates
Custom quiz logic across LearnDash question types such as sorting, matrix sorting, fill in the blank and essay, plus random question subsets, essay review flows and Gradebook weighting. Certificates are designed in Certificate Builder and tied to course, quiz or group completion.
Groups, seats and group leaders
Group hierarchies for departments or client companies, seat purchases through Group Registration or Groups Plus, and group leader screens limited to their own learners. We close the permission gaps that let managers see too much or too little.
WooCommerce and membership enrollment
Course and group products in WooCommerce, subscriptions with access removal on expiry, bundles and coupons, or MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, Stripe, PayPal and Razorpay setups. When paid orders stop granting access, we trace the order status rules and repair enrollments in bulk.
ProPanel and custom reporting
ProPanel dashboards configured for admins, instructors and group leaders, with CSV and Excel exports shaped the way your auditors or clients ask for data. Where ProPanel falls short, we build custom reports on the LearnDash activity tables.
Focus Mode, Course Grid and theme work
Course and lesson layouts built with LD30 template overrides in a child theme, a branded Focus Mode sidebar and masthead, and Course Grid catalogs with filters and progress bars. We work in Elementor, Divi, BuddyBoss or a custom theme and fix the CSS and script clashes with LearnDash.
Custom add-ons and API integrations
Small plugins that react to events such as learndash_course_completed, and integrations through the ldlms/v2 REST API with HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or Zapier. Your customizations sit in their own plugin, so a LearnDash update cannot wipe them out.
Speed and database cleanup
Profiling of slow course, profile and quiz pages, trimming of bloated quiz statistics and activity data, object caching and hosting tuning. The target is course pages that stay quick as learner records pile up.

Why course businesses hand us their LearnDash builds
We know where LearnDash keeps its data
Course progress lives in user meta, quiz attempts in the pro quiz statistic tables and learner events in learndash_user_activity. Knowing that is the difference between a clean fix and a guess.
Changes that survive updates
Template overrides sit in your child theme and custom logic sits in its own plugin. We test LearnDash and add-on releases on staging before they reach your live site.
100% own staff
No freelancers or subcontractors touch your site. A dedicated project manager keeps scope, timelines and questions in one place.
Your code, no lock-in
Every plugin, template and script we write is handed over with the site. If you change vendors later, nothing is held back.
NDA before access
Learner records, order history and unreleased course content stay confidential under an NDA we sign before asking for credentials.
Guarantees in writing
Fixed quotes, on-time delivery and a zero billing guarantee: if the work does not meet what we agreed, you are not charged or you get a refund.
From first call to launch
Free consultation
Tell us what is broken or what you want built. We ask for your LearnDash version, add-ons, theme and hosting so the conversation stays specific.
Audit and fixed quote
We review the site or a staging copy, list the work item by item and send a fixed quote with a delivery date.
Build on staging
Development happens on a staging copy loaded with realistic learner, order and quiz data, never on your live site.
Test the paths that earn money
We run purchase, enrollment, lesson completion, quiz submission and certificate download as a learner, a group leader and an admin.
Launch and support
We deploy in a quiet window, watch the error logs, and offer a monthly maintenance plan if you want us to stay on.
Work we are asked to do
Compliance training sold to employers
A provider sells seats to companies and needs each company's manager to see only their own staff. Group hierarchies, Group Registration seat purchases and filtered ProPanel exports cover it.
Subscriptions that stopped granting access
A course creator on WooCommerce Subscriptions finds renewals are not re-enrolling learners. We correct the enrollment status rules, then run the retroactive access tool to repair existing accounts.
Course pages slowing down every year
A professional association with years of stored quiz attempts watches lesson and profile pages crawl. We profile the queries, archive old statistics and add object caching.
Leaving a hosted course platform
A training business moving off Teachable or Thinkific wants its courses, quizzes and customers inside WordPress. We map the structure to LearnDash, import users and enrollments, and redirect old URLs.
Tools and integrations
Where LearnDash sites usually go wrong
LearnDash is a solid base. Most of the trouble we get called in for comes from how a site has grown around it: add-ons stacked up over the years, a theme never tested against the LD30 templates, and several years of learner data nobody planned for.
Slow course pages at scale
Each learner's course progress is stored in user meta, and quizzes with statistics enabled add rows for every attempt. With a few hundred learners you never notice. With tens of thousands, the course list, the profile page and ProPanel reports start running heavy queries on every load. We find those queries with query monitoring on a staging copy, then fix them with object caching, archived statistics, better indexes or rewritten custom code.
Quiz data bloat
Quizzes that save statistics for every attempt and allow unlimited retakes can become the largest tables in the database. We agree with you what must be kept for compliance, export the rest, and change the quiz settings so the problem does not come back.
WooCommerce enrollment out of sync
Paid orders that never grant access. Refunds that leave access open. Renewals that remove it by mistake. These come from order status rules, subscription settings and custom checkout plugins disagreeing with each other. We map each status to the right outcome and use the WooCommerce retroactive access tool to correct existing learners.
Group reporting managers cannot use
Group leaders often need a view the default reports do not give them, such as completion against a due date across several courses. We set up ProPanel filters where they fit and build custom reports or scheduled exports where they do not.
Theme and page builder conflicts
Broken Focus Mode layouts, duplicated headers and Mark Complete buttons that do nothing tend to trace back to theme CSS, JavaScript optimization plugins or page builder templates overriding LearnDash output. We fix them with scoped overrides, never by editing LearnDash files.
How we build inside LearnDash
We treat LearnDash core as something you should be able to update on release day. That rule shapes every project:
- Template changes go into learndash/ld30 overrides in your child theme.
- Business logic lives in a custom plugin hooked into LearnDash actions and filters.
- Outside systems talk to LearnDash through the ldlms/v2 REST API, not direct database writes.
- Every change is tested on staging against a copy of your real courses, groups and orders.
At handover you receive the code along with plain notes on what each customization does, so your own team or a future developer can pick it up.
When LearnDash is the right fit
LearnDash works well when you want full control of your site, sell courses or memberships, and are comfortable running WordPress. If your plans include proctored exams, SSO with automatic user provisioning or audit-ready compliance evidence, we will tell you early. In that case we can also talk about LMS Advisor, the platform we built after years of client work, which imports LearnDash courses. For most projects a well-built LearnDash site is the right answer, and that is the work we quote for.
