What your MasterStudy developer takes on
A dedicated developer works through your backlog the way an employee would, with the difference that we handle hiring, cover and quality review.
Feature backlog on Pro Plus
Small and medium features that sit on top of Assignments, Gradebook, Group Courses or the Point System, shipped in short cycles you can review.
Front end and Elementor pages
Landing pages, course archives and instructor profiles built with MasterStudy Elementor widgets, plus CSS fixes to course page styles.
Student and instructor dashboards
Extra reports, custom fields and account screens for learners, instructors and managers, written as hooks rather than template hacks.
Checkout and billing upkeep
Ongoing work on Stripe, PayPal or WooCommerce checkout, subscription renewals, coupons and tax rules as your pricing changes.
App release support
Keep the Flutter app and its API plugin in step with plugin updates, fix sync issues and prepare new builds for the stores.
Automation and CRM links
Enrollment triggers to HubSpot, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or Salesforce through WP Fusion, Zapier or direct API work.
Release testing on staging
Each MasterStudy, theme and WordPress update is applied to staging first, checked against your custom code, then rolled out.
Bug triage and support tickets
Student and instructor issues reproduced, fixed and logged, so your support team is not guessing at plugin behavior.

How we vet, place and manage your developer
Platform-specific vetting
Developers we place on MasterStudy work are checked on its hooks, Course Builder filters, Pro Plus add-ons and WooCommerce checkout, not only on general PHP.
Three ways to engage
Part-time at 4 hours a day on a shared basis, or a dedicated developer full-time or hourly. Onsite, nearshore and offshore options are available.
Structured onboarding
Your developer starts with an access checklist, a staging copy and a written map of your add-ons, custom code and integrations.
Working hours that overlap yours
We agree shared hours for standups, reviews and urgent fixes before the engagement starts, so you are never waiting a day for an answer.
Reports you can read
Daily, weekly or on-completion reports depending on the model, sent by email, Slack or a project dashboard.
Guarantees in writing
Zero billing guarantee, 100% satisfaction guarantee, full code ownership and an NDA signed before your developer sees anything.
Hire the way that suits you
Onsite, nearshore or offshore. Start part time and scale up, or take a dedicated developer from week one.

Meet your developer
We propose a matched developer and you talk to them before deciding.
NDA and access
Contracts signed, credentials shared through a secure channel, staging set up.
First sprint
Early tasks are small and visible so you can judge quality quickly.
Steady cadence
Regular reports, milestone reviews and a project manager watching delivery.
Work we are asked to do
Agency needing overflow help
A web agency has three MasterStudy clients and no LMS specialist. A part-time developer handles their tickets under the agency's own process.
Course business with a steady backlog
An online school ships a new feature or landing page every few weeks. A full-time developer owns the roadmap and the release testing.
Marketplace scaling up
A growing instructor marketplace needs payout reports, onboarding flows and performance work at the same time. A dedicated developer works through them in priority order.
App out of sync after an update
A plugin update left the mobile app showing stale lessons. An hourly engagement fixes the API sync and ships a new build.
Tools and integrations
What to look for in a MasterStudy developer
A good WordPress developer is not automatically a good MasterStudy developer. The plugin has its own Course Builder, its own set of Pro Plus add-ons, three separate ways to take money and a Flutter app that depends on an API plugin staying in sync. Someone new to it will often rebuild a feature that already exists in the Point System or Email Manager, or edit templates in a way the next release overwrites.
When we place a developer on MasterStudy work, we check they can answer the questions that matter in practice. Which add-on handles this? Should checkout run natively or through WooCommerce here? Which hook is the safe place to add this field? That knowledge is what saves you hours.
How an engagement works
You can hire a developer part-time (4 hours a day, shared), full-time (8 hours a day, dedicated) or hourly with a dedicated developer and daily reporting. The right choice depends on how steady your work is. A school shipping features every sprint usually wants full-time. An agency with occasional MasterStudy tickets often starts part-time and grows from there.
Every developer is our own staff. We do not subcontract to freelancers, and a project manager stays involved for planning, cover during holidays and quality checks.
The first weeks on your site
Onboarding follows a checklist. Your developer gets staging access, reviews active add-ons and custom code, and writes a short map of how your site fits together: which course page style you use, which payment route is live, where custom functions live and what talks to your CRM. You see that map, and it becomes the handover document you keep regardless of what happens later.
Early tasks are deliberately small. A styling fix on a course archive, a new email in the Email Manager, a bug from your support inbox. That gives you a quick read on quality before larger work starts.
Keeping updates from surprising you
MasterStudy, the MasterStudy theme and WordPress all release on their own schedules, and the mobile app has to keep up. A dedicated developer applies each update on staging, runs through enrollment, quizzes, certificates and checkout, and only then updates production. When an update changes something your custom code relies on, you hear about it before your students do.
Hire a developer or commission a project?
If you have one defined job with a clear end, such as a migration or a new marketplace build, a fixed-price project is usually better value, and our MasterStudy development services page covers that route. Hiring makes sense when work keeps arriving and you want the same person who knows your site to handle it. Either way, the first conversation is free and covered by an NDA if you ask for one.
