What the rules ask plumbing trainers to keep
The rule behind each program decides what the LMS must record. For registered apprenticeships, 29 CFR 29.5 recommends at least 144 hours of related instruction for each year of apprenticeship, lists electronic media among the accepted delivery methods, and calls for "the maintenance of appropriate progress records." Apprenticeship.gov confirms sponsors can move classroom instruction online after talking to their apprenticeship training representative.
Continuing education changes at the state line. The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners requires 6 hours of CPE before renewal and only credits courses from Board-approved providers and instructors. Its provider rule, 22 TAC 365.19, requires segments of at least one hour, electronic submission of each completion within three business days of issuing the certificate, and certificates that show the provider, instructor, student name and license number, and completion date. Georgia's Rule 121-4-.04 asks licensed plumbers for 8 hours in the 24 months before expiration and has them keep records for at least five years. North Carolina eliminated mandatory plumbing CE in 2012.
On the job site, 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2) requires employers to instruct each employee in recognizing and avoiding unsafe conditions, and the construction confined space rule, 1926.1207, requires a training certification with each employee's name, the trainers' names and the dates. Backflow testers certified under ASSE 5110 need a 40-hour training course, a 100-question written exam passed at 70% or higher and a practical exam, and the certification lasts three years. Setting up apprenticeship related instruction
Build one course per apprenticeship year, split into sections by topic (drainage and venting, water supply, code, trade math), with sequential progression and lesson minimum time so nobody clicks through a module in ten minutes. Evening classes run as live sessions through Zoom or Google Meet, with attendance taken by hand or by QR code. End-of-level exams go in the Test Center with question pools, image hotspot questions on an isometric drawing and native proctoring. On-the-job hours, supervisor sign-offs and RAPIDS reporting belong in apprenticeship software, fed by our CSV exports and completion webhooks.
Onboarding service techs across branches
Model the company first: a branch per location or acquired brand, groups for service, drain and install roles, and a manager view for each branch lead. Connect SAML SSO and SCIM if the office runs Entra ID or Okta, and phone login for techs without company email. Then assign onboarding courses with due dates and mandatory flags. A CE provider or ASSE-approved school builds courses in one-hour sections, runs live webinars with attendance, and lays out the certificate with the fields its board lists (confirm in a demo that instructor name and license number print where you need them). Each certificate gets a public verification page. Exports and certificate-issued webhooks give you the data for your own board filing, which stays your job. Where LMS Advisor stops
LMS Advisor is not apprenticeship management software: there is no OJT hour logbook, supervisor approval, wage-step tracking or RAPIDS export. It does not connect natively to ServiceTitan or other field-service and HR systems, only through the REST API, webhooks and SSO. There is no plumbing course library, no native checkout, no App Store app (it is a PWA, and lessons need a connection) and no CE-credit ledger.
