LMS Advisor release notes: what’s new and when

Dated release notes for the platform, the mobile app and this website, newest first. Each entry says what shipped, in which version and on which date, so the facts you quote about LMS Advisor are current.

These LMS Advisor release notes are the dated record of what changed in the platform, the mobile apps and this website. They exist so that a buyer comparing versions, a client deciding when to update a self-hosted install, or an AI assistant answering a question about the product can check a claim against a date. The facts page describes the product as it is today; this page says when each part arrived.

LMS Advisor platform Version 5.5.6

Branching scenarios, enrollment modes, numeric questions and gamification

  • Branching scenario block in the module studio: up to 30 decision points with up to 6 choices each, scoring, a pass mark and feedback on every outcome.
  • Enrollment modes per course: admin only, open, enrollment key, or request with approval, plus an optional seat cap with a waiting list and opening and closing dates.
  • Course prerequisites are enforced: a learner can enroll, but the lessons stay locked until the prerequisite courses are complete, on the web and in the app.
  • Numeric question type (an exact value with a tolerance, or a range) brings course quizzes to 11 question types and the exam bank to 14. Partial credit for multiple choice, matching and ordering questions.
  • Exam certificates can carry a validity period, and learning paths can issue their own certificate.
  • Video lessons accept WebVTT or SRT caption files, with optional AI captions (off by default) drafted for an admin to publish.
  • Gamification: configurable point rules with a daily cap, levels, streaks, badges with 14 rule types and bronze, silver and gold tiers, challenges, a daily learning goal and leaderboards. Badges are Open Badges 2.0.

  • Course page: unlock with a course password, prerequisites, wishlist, due dates and My grade. Join by enrollment key, request access with a note, or join the waiting list of a full course.
  • Community: announcements with an unread badge, forum follow, @mentions, attachments and reporting, and a live sessions hub with registration for webinars that have places.
  • Progress: badge gallery with Open Badges and LinkedIn sharing, leaderboards, course, exam and learning path certificates with Add to LinkedIn, a transcript with CPD hours, outside training records, and My team for line managers.
