On a plant floor, training competes with the production schedule. Operators rotate through 12-hour shifts, some are agency temps, few have a company email, and the nearest screen is a shared tablet by the time clock. Then an auditor asks for the training record of the operator who ran a particular lot.

Qualifying operators machine by machine
One course per qualification
We recommend a small course for each thing an operator can be qualified on: running the press brake, changing a die, driving a forklift in the warehouse, entering a permit-required confined space. Each course holds a short video, a knowledge check and a practical sign-off. Give the course a validity period in months, and passing it issues a certificate that expires on schedule. LMS Advisor does not include a skills matrix module, so these certificates become the evidence behind the matrix you already keep, and enrollment and completion records export for audits.
Capturing the procedure
Most procedure video is shot on a phone at the machine by the person who knows the job best. Upload it, or record in the Recording Studio, then add chapters for each step and timestamped questions: which energy sources are isolated before the guard comes off, where the lock goes, what the verification step looks like. Wrong answers rewind to the relevant step. Overlay notes can call out a torque value or required PPE at the moment it matters.
The practical sign-off
A trainer observes the task, and the operator uploads the signed checklist as an assignment that the trainer grades. For tasks that are easy to film, an exam can ask for a video answer of a pre-use inspection instead, reviewed later. Either way, the result sits in the same record as the online part.
When the SOP changes
Publish the revised lesson, then assign a short change briefing covering what changed to the affected branch or group with a due date. Reminder rules follow up with people who have not started, and the supervisor’s team view shows who on the crew still needs it. Each completion is dated, so you can show an auditor who was briefed on the revision and when.
Shared devices and shift crews
Plenty of plants keep a tablet or kiosk in the break room. Each operator signs in to their own account with a phone code, and logging out clears cached course images from the device so the next person does not see what the last one was studying. Temps can sit in their own organization with the staffing agency’s site lead as its manager.

Can operators without email use it?
Yes. With phone login on, operators get a one-time code by WhatsApp or SMS. Create accounts by CSV import, or let supervisors add their own crew.
Will it work on a shared break room tablet?
Yes. Each operator signs in to their own account, and logging out clears cached course images so the next person starts clean. Private files are not kept in the device cache.
Do you have a skills matrix?
No. LMS Advisor does not include a skills or competency matrix. You can issue a certificate per machine or task and export those records to the matrix you already maintain.
Can we train crews in Spanish and other languages?

Does it work offline on the floor?
Partly. In the iOS and Android app, operators can save video, audio and document lessons to their phone ahead of the shift and play them with no signal, and progress syncs later. Quizzes, SCORM packages, exams and QR check-in need a connection, and so does a shared tablet running in the browser, so where floor Wi-Fi is weak keep a training spot in the break room or at the supervisor’s station.
Can each plant have its own admin?
Yes. Plants are branches, and branch managers see only their own plant’s people, courses and reports.
Can we reuse the safety courses we already bought?
Yes. SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI and cmi5 packages upload as lessons, and videos, PDFs and slides go into the Media Library for reuse across plants.
