Start with the registration form. Turn on self-registration and add the fields your coordinator actually needs: which program, which location, whether the volunteer will work with children or vulnerable adults. Custom fields can be text, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, dates or phone numbers. New volunteers verify their email and land on their dashboard, where a learning path takes them through your organization’s story, safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection, then their specific role. Mark scenario questions as required so nobody finishes safeguarding by clicking through. A mandatory first-login form can collect a code of conduct acknowledgment, exported to CSV for your files.
Members: a catalog worth renewing for
Publish a catalog that members self-enroll in by category. Webinar recordings, conference sessions and short courses all work as lessons, and live events can run through Zoom or Google Meet. Each course can issue a certificate showing the course and date, which members submit to their licensing or professional body. We do not accredit courses, so approved hours come from your own accreditation arrangements. Points, badges and streaks give members a visible record of their year.
Chapters and partner organizations
Create a branch for each chapter. Chapter leads with a branch-scoped role see only their own members and reports, while the national office sees everything. For partner charities that send volunteers your way, an organization with its own manager lets their coordinator add people directly.
Earning income from education
Some associations fund education by charging non-members or selling premium certification courses. LMS Advisor has no checkout of its own. The WooCommerce plugin syncs the courses, paths and exams you choose to your store, WooCommerce takes the payment, and buyers are signed into the LMS after purchase. Free member courses stay in the open catalog.
Keeping volunteer data tidy
The GDPR and CCPA request queue lets people ask for a copy of their data or its deletion, and you track each request against a due date. The inactive-account retention rule can anonymize accounts with no login for a period you set, while keeping anonymous completion records for impact reports.
