Namaste LMS development that fills the plugin’s gaps
Namaste LMS gives you courses, lessons, assignments, certificates and a gradebook. We add what it leaves out: quizzes through WatuPRO, a proper checkout, reports your managers can use, and the security work an older plugin now needs.

Namaste LMS work we deliver
Namaste LMS is lean, and that is part of its appeal. Most of our work adds the pieces a growing school expects without turning the site into something you can’t maintain.
Security audit and hardening
The free plugin’s WordPress.org listing has been closed since February 2025 for a security issue. We check your version against published reports, including CVE-2025-27353 (CSRF, up to 2.6.5), then patch or mitigate and lock down exposed forms.
Completion rules and access
Required and optional lessons, lesson prerequisites, delayed access, and course completion tied to approved assignments or a passed exam. We also restrict posts, pages and files to enrolled students.
Quizzes through Watu and WatuPRO
Namaste LMS has no quiz engine of its own. We build exams in Watu or WatuPRO, attach them as lesson requirements, and confirm a submitted exam updates the lesson status right away.
Payments and enrollment
PayPal and Stripe for direct sales, the free WooCommerce bridge when you need a real cart, Namaste PRO coupons and bundles, and Instamojo for buyers in India. Every payment path is tested end to end.
Classes, teachers and roles
Namaste PRO classes to group students, teachers assigned to manage each class, and automatic WordPress role changes when a student enrolls in or completes a course.
Reports managers can read
Namaste Reports covers pageviews, completion and a user history log. When a manager needs a per-department view or a scheduled CSV, we build it from Namaste’s own data.
Custom features on Namaste hooks
We use documented hooks such as namaste_enrolled_course, namaste_completed_lesson and namaste_achieved_certificate to trigger emails and CRM updates, and the namaste-lesson-other-requirements filter to add completion rules.
Student-facing design
A cleaner student dashboard and course pages built from shortcodes like [namaste-dashboard], [namaste-course-lessons] and [namaste-next-lesson], styled to match your theme and readable on a phone.

Why Namaste LMS owners call us
Honest about the plugin
Namaste LMS has a much smaller ecosystem than the big WordPress LMS plugins. We tell you where it fits, where custom code closes a gap, and when a move costs less than patching.
Security before features
We check the plugin version, user roles and public forms first. Adding features to an exposed site only widens the problem.
Companion code, not core edits
Custom work lives in its own plugin on Namaste’s hooks, so it survives if the vendor ships an update and can be reviewed on its own.
One project manager
A single contact runs your project, keeps the task list current and reports each milestone by email, Slack or dashboard.
A way out if you need it
If the audit says Namaste LMS has run its course for you, we move courses, lessons, students and certificates to another platform and keep old URLs redirecting.
Price agreed up front
The consultation is free, the quote is written, and our zero billing guarantee means you don’t pay for work that misses what we agreed.
From first call to launch
Free consultation
We learn how you teach, how you sell and what worries you about the current site.
Security and fit audit
Under NDA we check the Namaste version, add-ons, roles and custom code, and report what we find in plain language.
Decide: fix, extend or move
You get a written plan and price for the option that makes sense, with the trade-offs spelled out.
Build and test on staging
We work on a copy of the site and test enrollment, assignments, quizzes and certificates as a real student would.
Launch and look after it
We deploy, monitor the first week, and offer a maintenance plan that keeps the plugin checked against new reports.
Work we are asked to do
Language school with class groups
Students join a Namaste PRO class, teachers approve homework and leave notes on each solution, and class activity flows into a BuddyPress group so learners talk between lessons.
Nonprofit offering free certified courses
Courses stay free on the core plugin, a WatuPRO final exam gates completion, the certificate is issued automatically, and a webhook logs each certificate in the grant-reporting spreadsheet through Zapier.
Tutor selling to students in India
Paid courses sell through Instamojo, bundles run through the WooCommerce bridge, and myCRED points reward finished courses to keep students coming back.
Organization that outgrew Namaste
After the audit, courses, lessons, users and completion records move to a larger WordPress LMS, with redirects in place so bookmarked lesson links still work.
Tools and integrations
A small plugin with a real place
Namaste LMS, from Kiboko Labs, has been around for years and still runs courses for schools, tutors and nonprofits that value its simplicity. The free core handles unlimited courses and lessons, self or admin enrollment, assignments that teachers approve or reject with notes, certificates, a gradebook, points and badges. Namaste PRO adds classes, teachers assigned to those classes, coupons, bundles, a shopping cart, progress bars and protected files. Namaste Reports adds activity logs and completion charts.
That is a sensible toolkit for a small program. It is also a smaller ecosystem than LearnDash, LifterLMS or Tutor LMS, with fewer ready-made integrations and fewer developers who know its internals. When your needs grow past the defaults, custom development fills the gap.
Start with security
We say this plainly because it affects your decision. When we checked in September 2026, the free plugin’s page on WordPress.org had been closed since February 2025, flagged for a security issue. Public vulnerability databases list a cross-site request forgery report, CVE-2025-27353, against versions up to 2.6.5, alongside earlier cross-site scripting and PHP object injection reports that were fixed in later releases.
So our first step on any Namaste LMS project is a security audit. We confirm the installed version and where it came from, review who has teacher and manager rights, check the public enrollment and homework forms, and add protection where the plugin is missing it. Then we set up monitoring so you hear about the next report before an attacker acts on it.
Where development fills the gaps
These are the gaps we close most often:
- Assessment. Namaste LMS relies on Watu or WatuPRO for quizzes. We build the exams, set them as lesson requirements and test the handoff so lesson status updates when an exam is submitted.
- Selling. PayPal and Stripe are there, but many schools need a cart, tax handling or invoices. The WooCommerce bridge covers that, and we configure it so each order enrolls the right student in the right class.
- Reporting. Namaste Reports shows activity and completion. Custom exports by class, teacher or date range, or a manager dashboard, come from code we write against Namaste’s data.
- Integrations. Beyond Arigato PRO, myCRED, BuddyPress and Zapier webhooks, connections to your CRM or HR system are custom work on Namaste’s documented hooks.
When moving is the better answer
Sometimes the honest recommendation is to leave. If you need SCORM packages, a large catalog of integrations, or vendor security fixes you can count on, another platform will cost less over time than patching Namaste LMS. We migrate courses, lessons, students, enrollments and certificate records to LearnDash, LifterLMS, Tutor LMS or WP Courseware, and for organizations that need compliance evidence or SSO, to our own LMS Advisor.
Either way, you get a clear recommendation and a written price before any work starts.
