LMS Advisor vs LearnWorlds: which one fits your training?
LearnWorlds is a course-selling platform for training providers and creators, with published prices, an interactive video editor and checkout built in. LMS Advisor is built around proctored exams, standards and a server you own. Checked against LearnWorlds’ own pages in October 2026.
Our honest take
Pick LearnWorlds if you sell courses to the public and want checkout, funnels, affiliates, a site builder and a published monthly price. Pick LMS Advisor if you run proctored or certification exams, need xAPI, cmi5 or LTI grade passback into a client’s LMS, examine candidates outside any course, or want to self-host on a one-time license.
LearnWorlds is made for learning businesses: a website builder, an interactive video editor, 16 or more question types, checkout with subscriptions, bundles and an affiliate program, and a branded mobile app add-on. Its prices are on the pricing page, from a $29 a month Starter plan that charges $5 per paid enrollment to a $299 a month Learning Center plan, with Corporate on quote.
LMS Advisor sells courses too, through your WooCommerce store, and differs on the exam and standards side: proctoring is a setting on each exam where LearnWorlds’ pages describe none, xAPI and cmi5 run alongside SCORM where LearnWorlds supports SCORM only, candidates can be examined without a course enrollment, and the product runs on your own server with a one-time license. Below is where each product wins, with every LearnWorlds fact taken from LearnWorlds’ own site.

Choosing between the two
LMS Advisor is the better fit if
- You run certification or pre-hire exams that need webcam proctoring, ID capture and an evidence trail inside the product.
- Your content or clients need xAPI or cmi5, or a client’s LMS must launch your exams over LTI 1.3 and receive the grades.
- Candidates sit exams without a course enrollment, invited by email or signed in with a one-time code.
- You want SSO and native apps in the base price, or the LMS on your own server with a one-time license.
LearnWorlds is the better fit if
- You sell courses to the public and want checkout, subscriptions, funnels, coupons and affiliates inside the platform.
- You want a site builder and a published monthly price you can start on today, with a 30-day trial.
- You want an interactive video editor with AI subtitles and a marketplace of licensable courses.
Where the two really differ
Six differences come up in nearly every LearnWorlds conversation. Selling, site building and published pricing favor LearnWorlds. Exams, standards and hosting favor LMS Advisor.
Proctoring is built into the exam
LearnWorlds deters cheating with server-side timing and can launch an external proctoring tool over LTI 1.3 on its higher plans. LMS Advisor adds webcam snapshots, AI face checks, fullscreen lockdown, ID photo capture and violation limits as settings on each exam.
Both have interactive video
LearnWorlds’ editor adds questions, buttons, overlays, chapters and AI subtitles to video, and is one of its best features. LMS Advisor’s interactive video pauses on timestamped questions and rewinds on a wrong answer, with AI captions and translation.
SCORM only, or SCORM, xAPI and cmi5
LearnWorlds supports SCORM 1.2 and 2004 and HTML5 from Pro Trainer up, and its own comparison page concedes xAPI and cmi5 to TalentLMS. LMS Advisor runs all three with a built-in LRS, and is an LTI 1.3 tool with grade passback.
Selling goes to LearnWorlds
Checkout with Stripe, PayPal and Shopify, subscriptions, bundles, installments, coupons, order bumps, funnels and an affiliate program are all built in. LMS Advisor sells through your WooCommerce store with our plugin, which covers subscriptions and bundles but not funnels or affiliates.
A published price against a quote
LearnWorlds publishes Starter at $29 a month plus $5 per paid enrollment, Pro Trainer at $99 and Learning Center at $299, with SSO, API and user groups from Learning Center and a branded app at $149 a month. LMS Advisor is quoted, with SSO and apps included and a one-time license for self-hosted installs.
Cloud only against your own server
LearnWorlds runs on Google Cloud in four regions and holds no certification of its own. LMS Advisor runs in our cloud or installs on ordinary cPanel or VPS hosting in any country.
The details that decide a LearnWorlds comparison
A business platform against a training platform
LearnWorlds is a learning business in a box: a website builder with templates, a course builder, an interactive video editor, interactive ebooks, checkout with subscriptions and bundles, funnels, an affiliate program, email tool integrations and a Course Hub marketplace. Pricing is public and starts small. For a creator or training provider whose main job is selling courses to the public, it is a strong, well-documented choice.
LMS Advisor is a training and exam platform that also sells. Courses, learning paths and exams are sold through your WooCommerce store with our plugin, including subscriptions and bundles, and buyers are signed in automatically. There is no site builder, funnel or affiliate program. Where LMS Advisor pulls ahead is the exam, the standards and the hosting.
Exams and proctoring
LearnWorlds’ assessment builder is capable: 16 or more question types, question banks across courses, randomized order, server-side time limits, attempt limits, a passing grade, AI question generation and AI-assisted grading. Its pages describe no proctoring beyond server-side timing, and suggest launching an external proctoring tool over LTI 1.3 on Learning Center and above.
LMS Advisor’s question bank has 14 types including coding questions that run against test cases, image hotspot, audio and video answers, with pools, difficulty levels, negative marking and nightly item analysis. Proctoring is configured per exam: periodic webcam snapshots, AI face monitoring, fullscreen lockdown, logged tab switches and copy or paste, ID photo capture, device lock and violation limits that can end an attempt. The Test Center examines candidates who are not enrolled anywhere, with an appeal step and a results page you control.
Standards, identity and integrations
LearnWorlds supports SCORM 1.2 and 2004 and HTML5 packages from Pro Trainer, limited to 20 packages until Learning Center, and its own comparison page says TalentLMS has the advantage where xAPI or cmi5 is required. It acts as an LTI 1.3 consumer on Learning Center and above. LMS Advisor runs SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI with a built-in LRS and cmi5, and acts as an LTI 1.3 tool with grade passback, so a corporate client’s LMS can launch your courses and exams.
SAML and OpenID Connect single sign-on, the API, webhooks, custom roles and user groups start at LearnWorlds’ Learning Center plan, and SCIM is not stated. LMS Advisor includes SAML 2.0, SCIM 2.0 provisioning, passkeys and two-factor authentication. LearnWorlds has a native HubSpot connector and many email tools; LMS Advisor syncs HubSpot and Zoho CRM, BambooHR, Zoho People and Keka, and sends signed webhooks for 15 events.
Pricing, mobile and hosting
LearnWorlds publishes Starter at $29 a month plus $5 per paid enrollment, Pro Trainer at $99 and Learning Center at $299, lower when billed annually, with Corporate on quote and a 30-day trial (October 2026). Starter has no SCORM, certificates, white label or LTI. The branded mobile app is an add-on at $149 a month. It runs on Google Cloud and claims no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 of its own.
LMS Advisor is quote-based on learner numbers, modules and hosting, with iOS and Android apps, SSO, SCIM and AI included. The cloud is a subscription; a standard self-hosted install on ordinary cPanel or VPS hosting can be bought on a one-time license. We hold no attestation either, and say so.
Moving from LearnWorlds to LMS Advisor
Export what you own
Download your videos, PDFs and SCORM packages, and export user progress and sales reports from the Reports Center. Course Hub courses are licensed from other schools and do not transfer.
Upload content as lessons
In LMS Advisor, create courses and upload SCORM packages, videos and documents as lessons. Rebuild interactive video questions in our video editor and quizzes in the question bank, with AI drafts to speed that up.
Move the store to WooCommerce
Set up your products, subscriptions and bundles in WooCommerce, connect our plugin so each product grants the right course, path or exam, and import users by CSV with their enrollments.
Rebuild exams and go live
Set up proctored exams in the Test Center, reissue current certificates with their expiry dates, connect SAML if clients need it, and point learners at the new sign-in before you close the LearnWorlds school.
